Skipper Rum Re-Launches
Marblehead has redesigned the label to reflect the brand’s traditional heritage. Skipper is distilled in Guyana at the famous Diamond Distillery in the capital Georgetown, and is a blend of rums, some of which are distilled in one of the world’s last wooden pot stills. Unusually Skipper is matured where it is distilled in Guyana and benefits from tropical ageing in once-used American whiskey barrels. Guyanese sugar cane black strap molasses is distilled in the Port Morant wooden still, producing a warm, rich rum described as “the best in this rum world”.
